Day 10: Making the Extra Sale or Would You Like Fries With That?

Day 10

This 30-day series is a roadmap for you to create an online business by following the training in the One Funnel Away (OFA) Challenge from Russell Brunson and ClickFunnels. Make sure you are watching the training videos, and following Russell’s instructions. Use these pages to stay on track with the activities.

It’s called ‘suggestive selling.’ When you place your order at McDonald’s and they ask ‘would you like fries (or another option) with that?’ they are ‘suggesting’ that perhaps your order is not complete.

You may have no interest in fries, but the question makes you stop and think: ‘Hhmmm…yeah fries would be good….”

And the next thing you know, your meal has just increased in size…and price.

For an online business, this suggestion is known as an ‘order bump.’ It’s an additional offer that can be added to your main offer.

In OFA, that offer is called a Framework-by-product, which appears on your Framework landing page as an ‘order bump’ – an additional offer for another product available only as an addition to the sale of the main product.

So you need to think of an additional product that compliments the one you are already offering. There are many suggestions about what the product can be, you just have to pick one.

Now at this point, you may realize that creating your online business in 30 days is a lot of work in a concentrated timeframe. Don’t worry if you start falling behind on creating your products and writing all the sales copy, you can take as much time as you need. The important thing is to understand the concepts.

You are adding another offer because a certain percentage of consumers tend to purchase this additional product when it’s suggested. This means you can earn more per average sale than you would if you only sold your main product.

The order bump is only offered at checkout, so if you miss it, you might end up with FOMO.

But if you get it, you might feel your order is complete.

This is not a sleazy salesman tactic. The product you offer has to be valuable like the audio or video version of your main product, or background information you do not offer anywhere else.

You are giving your dream customers another option. If they’re interested, they’ll buy it, if not, they’ll close out their order.

A word about costs…you can spend a little or a lot of money at different steps in the OFA process. For example, if you want to make a professional video and hire someone to film you, that’s going to cost you money. But if you use the tools you already have, like a smartphone and free software, you will spend nothing. So the costs are all estimates, based on the amount you would actually have to spend to finish OFA.
Using Click Funnels

OFA is built around using the ClickFunnels software to create your sales funnel. Technically, you can use any webpage software and link the pages together. But ClickFunnels is the only software that lets you manage all the pages together in one view.

The software also links the personal data that you gather from your customers. So if a sale is made on one page, the details link through to the next page…and so on. There are also other features that make it easy for customers to buy at a later date, without re-entering their information.

You can begin using ClickFunnels with a 14-day free trial, which would begin today when you create your sales page.
